Dr. Larry
Rose, certified by the American Board Orthodontics
as a specialist in orthodontics, earned his Master
of Science degree in Orthodontics from the
University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston. Dr.
Rose received his DDS degree from St. Louis University.
Dr. Rose served as a Captain in the US Army Dental
Corps, and after being Honorably Discharged, established
a General Dental practice in Houston. During his
years of practicing General Dentistry, he became
interested in the facial growth and dental development
of children, and decided to pursue a career in the
specialty
of Orthodontics. Dr. Rose has learned that many children
in the eight-year-old to eleven-year-old range benefit
from orthodontic treatment during this critical stage
of facial growth,
and many of these patients can be treated without
the removal of permanent teeth. Dr. Rose has authored
many articles that have been
published in various national dental magazines,and
has lectured on dental subjects ranging from clinical
techniques to practice management throughout the
US. Dr. Rose invented, and holds the patent on an
orthodontic plier sold world wide. Dr. Rose served
as the ringside dentist to Muhammad Ali, and maintains
a close relationship with the former World Champion.
Another of Dr. Rose's interests is NHRA drag racing.
Dr. Rose's racing program is sponsored by H&W
Petroleum Company, Inc. Dr. Rose makes personal appearances
on behalf of his sponsors, and is a recurring guest
on the Car Doctor Radio Show, broadcast on KSEV
AM, Saturdays from noon until 2:00 PM. Dr. Rose races
his cars at Houston Raceway Park, and provides
complimentary tickets to patients who attend.
