Meet Dr. Mohni Malik

Dr. Mohni Malik completed her orthodontic residency training at Louisiana State University, and is excited to bring smiles to the faces of children and adults all over the Houston area! Dr. Malik wants her patients to remember their time in braces as a fun and memorable experience. She wants her patients to walk away from their orthodontic treatment with pleasant memories and a stellar smile!

Experience

With a dentist as a father, a dental assistant as a mother, and a pediatric dentist as a brother, Dr. Malik has grown up surrounded by the profession of dentistry. Dr. Malik was born and raised in sunny Sarasota, Florida. She always knew that she wanted to be in the health profession, but it was in high school that she discovered her passion for dentistry. Dr. Malik was accepted into the University of Florida’s accelerated 7-year program, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition and a Doctorate of Dental Medicine. Dr. Malik graduated with high honors – top 10% of her class in 2009 – but her journey was not yet complete. Dr. Malik elected to continue her dental education at Louisiana State University’s orthodontic specialty program in The Big Easy (New Orleans, LA), where she received an additional 2 years of focused training in the specialty of orthodontics. It was here that she learned the specific skills she’ll now use to help her community achieve a beautiful smile.

Personal

When not in the office, Dr. Malik loves spending time with her family. Dr. Malik and her husband, Ajay, enjoy traveling, dancing, and trying new restaurants. Dr. Malik loves learning about new cultures; she speaks English, Punjabi and Hindi and is currently learning Spanish. She enjoys reading, and watching, romantic comedies; some of her favorite authors include Nicholas Sparks, Meg Cabot and Emily Giffin. Dr. Malik loves making new friends and hopes that her patients come to see her not only as their orthodontist, but as their friend.
